The Problem

The Problem

The landing page failed to communicate DreamDen’s core value, creating a discoverability issue. Despite offering AI room generation, shoppable products, and designer access, these features were not clearly showcased. First time users struggled to understand the platform’s benefits, leading to confusion and lower engagement.

Solution

Solution

The homepage was redesigned to give users a clear direction from the moment they land. A prominent CTA guides users toward taking action, while a clear value proposition explains what the product does. Social proof was added to build trust and credibility, and dedicated user journeys were introduced to help different user groups quickly access the features most relevant to them.

User Research

User Research

Access to users was limited during the internship period. I conducted 2 in-depth interviews with early platform users. A small sample, but both conversations surfaced themes that directly shaped the redesign direction.

"The AI feature is impressive, but the results feel superficial. I'd trust it more if it followed real interior design rules. Give it architectural standards to work from".

"The interface feels similar to other AI tools. If I can get the same output from Gemini faster, why would I use this? What makes DreamDen different?"

What this revealed

Users found the core AI capability interesting, but struggled to see clear differentiation from other tools. The value of the platform was not immediately evident, especially in the early interaction stages.

Additionally, while users appreciated the idea of generating designs and related outputs, there was a lack of clarity in how to navigate or act on those outputs.

How this informed the redesign

Based on these early insights, the focus shifted to:

  • Clearly communicating what makes DreamDen different

  • Improving first-time user understanding of the product’s value

  • Structuring outputs in a way that makes them more actionable and usable
